Road or sea: how do I choose?
It depends on your product, volume and sales plan. Send product details to the MG team to compare terms and timing before you decide. As a guide, road takes about 4–7 days and sea about 15–25 days, and the per-CBM rates differ as shown in the rate table.
How long does shipping from China to Thailand take with MG?
As a guide, road (K) takes about 4–7 days and sea (M) about 15–25 days, from either the Guangzhou (GZ) or Yiwu (YW) warehouse. These are averages and can be faster or slower. Once the China warehouse receives your goods, you can follow every step in the MG Cargo Plus app and on LINE MG Alert.
How is China–Thailand freight charged: per CBM or per kg?
MG rates are per CBM (1 CBM = 1 cubic metre). Volume = length × width × height (cm) ÷ 1,000,000 × number of cartons, multiplied by the rate for your mode, origin warehouse and product type. The billed volume comes from the DWS reading at the China warehouse, which you can see with photos in the app and on your bill. Delivery inside Thailand is not included.
Is there a minimum charge?
Yes. The minimum charge is 100 baht. If the cost from the measured size comes to less than 100 baht (say 60 or 99 baht), it is charged as 100 baht.
Where do the billed size and weight come from?
Freight is billed from the DWS reading at our China warehouse, which measures, weighs and photographs every carton automatically. Oversized items are measured with LiDAR. You can see the readings and photos in the app and on your bill. If something looks off, send the carton number to the team to check.
When do I use seller tracking vs MG tracking?
Before the China warehouse, use the seller's tracking number. After the warehouse receives your goods, use the MG app or LINE MG Alert.
Can I order on 1688 or Taobao and ship with MG?
Yes. Order and pay the seller yourself, then give them your customer code, the MG warehouse address (GZ or YW) and (K) or (M) to write on every carton, e.g. MG-XXXX (K). Once the China warehouse receives the goods, track them in the MG app or on LINE MG Alert. If you prefer, the MG team can order for you via LINE @mgorder and will confirm items and costs before you pay.
When do I pay for freight?
When goods reach the Thai warehouse, a bill is issued from the measurements. Check it in the app and pay by bank transfer, then collect it or arrange delivery.
What about fragile or special goods?
Send photos and details for the team to check before ordering or before the seller ships. For wooden crating, ask sales.
Is anyone there outside office hours?
Yes. The MG team looks after you in a LINE group 24 hours a day, and you have a personal staff member for any question. The office is open Monday–Saturday, 09:00–17:30.
Does the calculator give a price?
Yes, an estimate from the rate table: volume × the rate for your shipping mode, origin warehouse and product type. Final freight uses the DWS reading at our China warehouse and excludes delivery within Thailand. Shipping in volume? Request a quote from the calculator and our admin will call you back with special pricing.
How are lost or damaged goods compensated?
You can insure goods at 5% of their value; insured goods that are lost are compensated at 100% of their actual value. Without insurance: lost goods are compensated at their actual value, up to 3 times the shipping cost of the lost item; goods damaged beyond use, 3 times the shipping cost of that item (the item is returned to us); damaged goods you keep, 2 times the shipping cost; repairs, 1 times the shipping cost, up to 1,000 baht. Claims need photos and an unboxing video.
How much is wooden crating?
Priced by volume: under 0.1 CBM 150 baht, 0.10–0.20 CBM 200 baht, then 50 baht more for every 0.1 CBM (1.01–1.10 CBM is 650 baht). Ask the Chinese seller to mark the carton for crating and the warehouse crates it straight away. Crating does not include insurance against damage in transit.
